A note from the artist
Thank you for visiting my website. This is a catalog of my work, most of it is recent but there are also some early pieces. I hope you will enjoy looking around.
A little about me. I live in Houston, Texas, and have lived here for almost 20 years. Originally I’m from Denmark. My Scandinavian background is still strong. Each summer and sometimes for other holidays, I go “home” to re-discover my roots and culture and spend time with my Danish family.
I was always an artist who ended up in architecture school and then worked for some time as an architect. However, when I became a mother I left the business intending to return, but never found my way back. Instead, I refound paint and brushes. I’m a mother of three boys and life as a mom is a busy one. My time spent in the studio is treasured.
Because of the need for inspiration and community, I decided to take classes at The Glassell School of Art in Houston a few years ago. It has been a great advantage to study with fellow artists, to learn from great teachers and to see myself grow. It has lead to getting my own studio at Silver Street Studios.
My work is a mixed bag of drawings and paintings done with many different media. I enjoy project-based work that has a process, but also love just letting go to see what will happen. I love to experiment and “get my hands dirty”. I think architecture and my Danish background has a strong presence in my work as well as (but maybe not as much) life lived in Texas.
If you have any comments or feel like getting in touch, please do. I look forward to hearing from you.
